Trying to pick a health insurance plan can be a chore for anyone. For many people, just mentioning the word "open enrollment" sends shivers down the spine. It seems like there's always a nagging feeling that you're wasting money, choosing a plan with poor in-network care, or both. One would think that health insurance gets easier as you approach retirement age, but the truth is that picking an initial Medicare coverage plan can be daunting.
Unfortunately, the confusing process of signing up for Medicare causes many seniors to forego healthcare coverage altogether. After all, Medicare enrollment can involve several federal agencies, including the Social Security Administration (or SSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (or CMS).
At Senior Medicare Insurance Services, our passion is guiding seniors through the confusion of Medicare. That way, they can enjoy retirement with peace of mind knowing they are protected and ready for life after 65. We work with dozens of insurance companies, giving our clients the chance to choose a plan that best fits their lifestyle.
We choose to design our senior insurance plans with a focus on optimal benefits structure, lower costs, and personalized service. Some independent insurance agencies see their aging customers as nothing more than a financial transaction waiting to happen. In contrast, we treat each of our clients with respect and dignity as we help them navigate the confusing waters of Medicare. Combined with individualized service, we help older Americans make well-informed decisions about insurance. Whether you're in need of senior Medicare Supplement Plan insurance in Allen, TX or simply have questions about signing up for Medicare, our team is here to help.

What is Medicare?
If you're approaching the golden years of your life, it's important you understand what Medicare is if you don't already.
Medicare is a federal health insurance program reserved for people older than 65 who have worked full-time for at least ten years. The Medicare program is paid for by a combination of worker payroll tax, premiums paid by Medicare enrollees, and the U.S. government.
There are four parts of Medicare:

The amount of money you pay for your health care depends on several factors, including:
- What kind of care you need, and how often it is needed.
- The type of Medicare coverage you choose.
- Whether there are alternative insurance policies that will help fill gaps in your coverage
- Whether a doctor agrees to charge you the same amount that Medicare will cover for a medical service
At Senior Medicare Insurance Services, we offer a number of health insurance solutions for seniors. Two of our most used services include Medicare Advantage plan insurance and Medicare supplement plan insurance.
Senior Medicare Supplement Plan Insurance in Allen, TX
Sometimes called Medigap, the purpose of Medicare Supplement Insurance is to help fill in "gaps" that might not be covered by Original Medicare. You can think of a Medigap policy as a supplement for your Original Medicare benefits.
Private companies like Senior Medicare Insurance Services sell this type of insurance right here in South Carolina. While Original Medicare will pay for much of the cost associated with health care services you need, it may not cover all of your expenses. Generally, Medigap policies do not cover costs stemming from eyeglasses, private-duty nurses, dental care, hearing aids, or long-term care.
Depending on the Medicare Supplement Plan that you choose, it may cover out-of-the-country medical services when you travel abroad. Assuming you have Original Medicare coverage, your policy will cover its share of Medicare-approved health care costs. Once your Original Medicare coverage reaches its limit, your Medigap policy will pay its share of the fees.
Our Medigap policies are drafted to meet your specific needs, and can help cover remaining health care costs such as:
Deductibles
Copayments
Coinsurance
Important Information About Senior Supplement Plan Insurance
To dispel some confusion, you should know that a Medigap policy is not the same as a Medicare Advantage Plan. The latter helps you receive Medicare benefits, while the former supplements the benefits you obtain through your Original Medicare plan. As you begin to explore Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans, keep the following important information in mind:
As you begin to explore Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans, keep the following important information in mind:
- To qualify for a Medigap policy, you must first have Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B.
- Payments on your Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan will be made to the private insurance company that you choose, like Senior Medicare Insurance Services. These payments are made every month and are paid in addition to the monthly payment you make for Medicare Part B.
- If you are the holder of a Medicare Advantage Plan, it is illegal for an insurance company to sell you a senior Medicare Supplement Policy. If you plan on switching back to an Original Medicare plan, you may be able to purchase a Medigap policy.
- If you have health problems as you age, your standardized Medigap policy is guaranteed to be renewable. So long as you pay your monthly premium, your insurance provider cannot cancel your policy.
- Medigap policies only cover one person. If you have a spouse or family member that would like coverage, they must purchase a separate policy.
- You may only buy a Senior Medicare Supplement Plan from an insurance agent that is licensed to sell them in your state. Senior Medicare Insurance Services has been licensed to sell Medigap policies in South Carolina for years. We have helped countless seniors get the Medicare coverage they need and continue to do so to this day.
- In the past, Medigap policies were able to cover costs related to prescription drugs. As of January 1st, 2006, prescription drug coverage is not available on Medicare Supplement Plans. The best way to get coverage for your prescription drugs is to join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan, often called Part D. Contact our office today to learn more about paying premiums on Medigap and Medicare plans.
For many people, the best time to buy senior Medicare Supplement Plan Insurance in Allen, TX is during the 7 months Medigap Open Enrollment Period. This period starts the day you turn 65 years old, so long as you hold Medical Insurance (Medicare Part B). Generally, during the enrollment period, you get more policy choices and better pricing. Once the enrollment period is over, you may not be able to purchase a Medigap policy. Contact Senior Medicare Insurance Services today to determine if you qualify for a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan.
Medicare Agent in Allen, TX
A Medicare Advantage Plan is a kind of Medicare health coverage designed to provide seniors with all their Part A and Part B Medicare benefits. Many Medicare Advantage Plans will often include coverage of the following:
- Preferred Provider Organizations
- Special Needs Plans
- Private Fee-for-Service
- Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans
- Health Maintenance Organizations
In addition, most Medicare Advantage Plans give seniors coverage for their prescription drug needs. When you enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan through Senior Medicare Insurance Services, your Medicare benefits are covered through your plan and will not be paid for by traditional Medicare.
How Medicare Advantage Plans Work
Sometimes called "MA Plans" or "Part C," Medicare Advantage Plans are considered an "all in one" solution to Original Medicare. Senior Medicare Advantage Plans are only offered by private companies that are approved, like Senior Medicare Insurance Services. Seniors who enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan are still on Medicare. However, these individuals enjoy bundled plans that give seniors the benefits of hospital insurance (Medicare Part A), medical insurance (Medicare Part B), and sometimes drug coverage (Part D).
Medicare Advantage Plans are very popular because they cover all Medicare services and make life a little easier for seniors who have trouble understanding the nuances of Medicare.
When you contact Senior Medicare Insurance Services to choose your Medicare Advantage Plan, ask your agent about Medicare prescription drug coverage. Unless you already have drug coverage (Part D), you should seriously consider Part D coverage to help reduce costs associated with prescription drugs. You may also want to consider a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan to help fill gaps in coverage that Original Medicare will not cover.
Medicare Advantage Plan Insurance Rules
Medicare works by paying a set amount of money to the companies that offer Medicare Agent in Allen, TX. That money is used to pay for the care services that you need. Because Medicare Advantage Plans are different, you should expect out-of-pocket costs to vary depending on the plan you choose.
Different plans have different rules for how you receive services, such as:
If you must go to facilities, suppliers, or doctors that belong to your Advantage Plan for non-urgent and non-emergency care.-
Whether you must get a referral to see a specialized doctor
Companies that offer Medicare Advantage Plans must follow strict rules, which are set by Medicare and can change every year.
Paying for Your Medicare Agent
How much you pay for your Medicare Advantage Plan varies and depends on a few different factors. In most cases, if you need a kind of medical service, you will need to rely on the doctors and providers in your plan's service area and network to pay the lowest amounts. In some cases, if you choose to use a service outside of your plan's network of coverage, you may have to pay out-of-pocket.
We encourage you to contact our office today to learn more about Medicare Advantage Plans, how they work, what your options are, and how often you will have to pay out-of-pocket, if at all.

The best birthday venue in Allen for kids ages 3 to 8 — and how to know
If you are looking for the best place to host a kids' birthday party in Allen for ages 3 to 8, the short answer is Chuck E. Cheese Allen. Parties start at $99.99 and include unlimited gameplay, the Chuck E. Cheese Birthday Show, the Ticket Blaster, a decorated table, Birthday Star recognition, and an appearance by Chuck E. himself — every package, every kid, every time.
The reason ages 3 to 8 sit at the center of this conversation is that this is the band of childhood where the birthday is no longer a quiet milestone and not yet a teenage event. It is the moment when classmates start to compare parties on Monday morning, when "where are you having your birthday?" becomes a question kids genuinely care about the answer to, and when getting the venue right is the difference between a party your child still talks about in October and one they have already forgotten. Chuck E. Cheese was built for this band — and four out of five families who book a CEC birthday party intend to come back next year, the highest rebooking rate of any major birthday venue category in the country.
What 3-, 4-, 5-, 6-, 7-, and 8-year-olds actually want from a birthday party
The right venue for a 4-year-old is not the right venue for an 8-year-old — even though both kids might love Chuck E. Cheese for different reasons. Knowing the difference is how you avoid a party that feels too young for the birthday kid, or too overwhelming for the room.
Ages 3 and 4. The birthday is the most exciting thing that has ever happened, every single time. Character magic is at its peak — below age 5, character excitement is the single strongest predictor of which venue a child will love at their party. Chuck E. is the literal point of the day. Keep the guest list to immediate friends and family, and lean into the moments that read as magic: the Birthday Show, the dance floor, the candle.
Ages 5 and 6. The sweet spot. Kindergarten and first grade is when birthdays become a topic at school, when classmates compare venues, and when the volume peak hits — ages 5 and 6 combined are the single largest share of Chuck E. Cheese parties. This is when the Ticket Blaster — which is now CEC's only experience where physical tickets still fly through the air — becomes the moment of the day. Invite the whole class. Let it be loud.
Ages 7 and 8. The contested year. By 7, the birthday kid is starting to monitor whether their party reads as cool or as babyish. Character moments need to feel less center-stage and more like a celebrity cameo. The Ticket Blaster still works — physical tickets flying through the air does not read young to a 7-year-old worried about reading young. Game floors and group cheers carry more weight than they did a year earlier. A Allenites in this band is making real comparisons, and the venue earns the booking by treating them as the protagonist, not a recipient.

Chuck E. Cheese vs. the alternatives: which birthday venue fits ages 3 to 8?
Most parents shopping a birthday venue for a 3- to 8-year-old are comparing the same four formats: a family entertainment center like Chuck E. Cheese, a trampoline park, a private play center or indoor playground, or a party at home. Each has a place, and we will be honest about it. Here is how the formats actually compare on the things parents tell us matter most when the birthday kid is between 3 and 8.
| What parents tell us matters | Chuck E. Cheese Allen | Trampoline parks | Private play centers | Party at home |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rebooking rate — do families come back? | 81% — highest in category | 66–72% | Varies | 77% — structurally inflated by inertia |
| Per-child cost (10 kids) | From $99.99 for 6 kids, $19.99 each additional | $200–$400+ total | $300–$600+ total | $150–$400 in groceries, supplies, time |
| Guest count limit | No cap — invite the whole class | Hard caps at most venues | Hard caps by room size | Limited by your space |
| Birthday Star recognition | Built into every package — show, cheers, Chuck E. appearance | Limited — activity-focused | Yes — in the private room window | Whatever you can pull off yourself |
| Best fit for ages | 3–8 (peak at 4–7) | 6+ — younger kids often sidelined | 2–5 | Any — varies by host |
| Allergy and dietary handling | Menu options including gluten-free pizza on request | Limited — varies by venue | Varies | You handle it all |
| Cleanup and operational lift | None — we handle it | None | None | Significant — before, during, and after |
The trampoline-park comparison is worth being specific about. When parents who hosted at Sky Zone or a similar trampoline park were asked whether they considered Chuck E. Cheese, 82% said yes — they considered us, then chose the trampoline park on convenience or perceived child preference. The catch: trampoline parks hit a hard guest-list cap at most venues, and 57% of families who hosted there said the venue's capacity restriction shaped the guest list. At Chuck E. Cheese Allen, there is no cap. Every kid your child wanted to invite can come. Each kid above the included 6 is $19.99 — that's the only variable.
The home-party comparison. The intent behind a home party is real and we respect it. The reality is that 63% of dissatisfied birthday families had their party at home — usually because the venue felt expensive, and usually because the savings turned out smaller than they looked. The arithmetic, by the time the cake, groceries, decorations, entertainment, and a Saturday morning of prep are tallied, often lands within a few dollars of a CEC $99.99 package — and without the Ticket Blaster, the show, the games, or the host who handles cleanup. We are not here to tell anyone what is right for their family. We are here to tell Allenites the actual numbers.

For Texas, being one of the top teams in the state means something a little different. Through the first month of play, there's been plenty of movement in terms of ranking but entering a new month, the cream has seemed to rise to the top.
USA TODAY Sports Super 25 high school football rankings, Week 7Here are our rankings for the top 10 teams in Texas entering October.
1. Allen (TX)
Record: 5-0
The best preps coverage in the country, from rankings, scores and stats to local and national news—every team matters.Next game: Friday, Oct. 9, vs. McKinney, 7 p.m. CT
The Eagles will have this week off after cruising past Princeton (TX) 65-7. Sophomore quarterback Ty Snell has been one of the state's best quarterbacks this season, completing 73% of his passes for 1,027 yards and 15 touchdowns.
2. Waxahachie (TX)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9, vs. North Crowley (TX), 7 p.m. CT
Following a 61-14 win over Skyline (TX), Waxahachie is now averaging 53.4 points per game and winning by an average of 31.6 points. South Carolina quarterback commit Jerry Meyer III has thrown for 1,421 yards and 16 touchdowns while junior back Taylen Strange has added 12 more touchdowns on the ground.
3. North Crowley (Fort Worth, TX)
Record: 5-0
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2, vs. Waxahachie (TX), 7 p.m. CT
A 35-14 win over Crowley (TX) ended the Panthers' streak of giving up 10 more points a game than the previous week. They have one of the state's best running back duos in the state in Kiante Ingram (535 yards, 6 touchdowns) and G'Yrell Smith (484 yards, 10 touchdowns).
4. North Shore
Record: 5-0
Next game: Thursday, Oct. 1, at Humble (TX), 7 p.m. CT
The Mustangs have shutouts in three of their five games this season and have only played one game this season that was decided by a single possession. A punishing ground game has been the key to their success this year as they've rushed for 1,239 yards and 16 touchdowns as a team.
5. Randle
Record: 4-0
Next game: Thursday, Oct. 1, at South Houston (TX), 6:30 p.m. CT
Saying Randle is averaging 80 points per game over its last two wins may sound wrong but it's the truth. They beat Victoria East (TX) 69-14 two weeks ago and Fort Bend Dulles (TX) 91-0 last week. Texas five-star running back commit Landen Williams-Callis has 90 carries for 839 yards and 12 touchdowns.
6. Guyer
Record: 3-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2, at Braswell (TX), 7 p.m. CT
Carter Morgan has been one of the more efficient quarterbacks in the state, throwing for 1,059 yards but only has two touchdowns. Instead, the Wildcats rely on a potent ground game to find the end zone as seven different backs that have found the end zone this year.
7. Prosper
Record: 4-1
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9, vs. Rock Hill (TX), 7 p.m. CT
If you're playing the Eagles this season, you better be prepared for a shootout. Aside from a 51-21 loss to top-ranked Allen, Prosper has scored 49 or more points in every other game, averaging 54.5 points and winning those games by an average of 18 points.
8. DeSoto
Record: 3-2
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9, at Lancaster (TX), 7 p.m. CT
The losses to St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) and Allen to start the year feel like years ago at this point for the Eagles. They've won three straight games, two by double-digits, and Texas Tech four-star running back SaRod Baker has totaled 639 yards and nine touchdowns on the season.
9. Southlake Carroll
Record: 3-2
Next game: Friday, Oct. 9, vs. Northwest (TX), 7 p.m. CT
The Dragons stumbled out of the gate with a 1-2 start but have won back-to-back games in impressive fashion. Junior back Dez Bryant Jr. has been a big part of that. The son of former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant has totaled 205 yards and scored four times in their last two wins.
10. South Oak Cliff (Dallas, TX)
Record: 2-2
Next game: Friday, Oct. 2, vs. Molina (TX), 7:30 p.m. CT
After scoring 35 total points in losses to Randle and North Shore to start the season, the Golden Bears’ offense has come to life the last two weeks. Two weeks ago they shut out Hillcrest (TX) 55-0 and last week they rolled past Wilson (TX) 63-14.

What Is Chuck E. Cheese in Allen — and Why Is It Different From an Indoor Playground?
Chuck E. Cheese Allen is a full-scale family entertainment center — the only major venue of its kind built from the ground up for kids ages 2–12.
It is not a trampoline park. It is not a bounce house. It has those things, but it also has 50 to over 100 arcade games, a full pizzeria with fresh-baked pizza and wings, dedicated birthday party areas, and the only safety system in family entertainment that stamps every member of your group with matching UV ink so no child leaves without the right adult.
No other indoor playground near Allen combines all of that in one climate-controlled space. Whatever the weather is doing outside, the fun is always on inside.

The Trampoline Zone: Bouncing Built for Little Kids
The Trampoline Zone is a fully enclosed, padded jumping area designed specifically for kids under 56 inches (4′8″) tall.
That height limit is the whole point: it keeps the floor free from teenagers and adults, so your 3-year-old isn't sharing space with a 14-year-old doing backflips. Every session is supervised, padded walls are standard, and the equipment exceeds ASTM F2970 safety standards with daily inspections.
Grip socks are included free with every Adventure Zone admission — Chuck E. Cheese-branded, taken home as a souvenir. When kids are done bouncing, the arcade is 30 steps away. No packing up, no driving to the next stop.
The Superhero Playground: Multi-Level Climbing, Slides, and Challenges
The Superhero Playground is a multi-level indoor playground packed with climbing walls, rope challenges, balance beams, slides, and tunnels — the kind of full-body obstacle course that builds coordination and burns real energy.
It is built into the Adventure Zone alongside the Trampoline Zone, giving kids two distinct indoor playground environments in the same visit. Unlike standalone indoor playgrounds where the structure is the whole experience, the Superhero Playground at Chuck E. Cheese is surrounded by the arcade, the pizza restaurant, and the prize counter.
Kids cycle through activities on their own terms. Parents can sit in the dining area with a slice and a drink rather than standing on a rubber floor for two hours.
The Adventure Zone is open year-round, indoors and climate-controlled — so whether Allen is hitting triple digits or dealing with a cold snap, the fun doesn't depend on the forecast.
Arcade Games: The Part Trampoline Parks Don't Have
Chuck E. Cheese locations near Allen carry 57 arcade and redemption games — skill games, racing simulators, basketball shooters, claw machines, and cooperative games parents and kids play side by side.
All earning E-Tickets stored digitally on a reusable Play Pass® card. Tickets add up across visits and redeem at the prize counter for real prizes. It is the only indoor play venue near Allen where your child leaves with something they actually earned.
Most indoor playgrounds route parents to the sidelines. Chuck E. Cheese is designed for parents to play too.
The arcade floor has games calibrated for every age — simple button-press games for toddlers, skill-based games for older kids, and competitive head-to-head games that work perfectly for a parent vs. kid showdown.
The Fun Pass® membership starting at $7.99/month includes daily Play Points, making repeat visits easy on the budget for Allenites.
A Full Pizzeria, Not Just a Snack Stand
Chuck E. Cheese is a real pizza restaurant. The kitchen bakes fresh pizzas — personal, medium, large, and XL — including stuffed crust and specialty pies, with gluten-free crust available.
The full menu includes traditional and boneless wings, cheesy bread, saucy meatballs, salad barYes, desserts, and a full beverage menu. Prices vary by location; pizza starts at $9.49 for a personal pie.
This matters on family outings. At a trampoline park, "dining" typically means vending machines and pre-packaged counter food. At Chuck E. Cheese, parents eat a proper meal while kids rotate between the arcade and the playground.
The kitchen is open the entire visit — you are not racing to leave before anyone gets hungry. Fun Pass® members also save 20–50% on food with every visit, depending on tier.

Allen (TX), which started the season unranked in the Super 25, has risen dramatically on the back of big wins over in-state powers Duncanville, DeSoto and Southlake Carroll. Its most recent, a 56-35 victory over the Dragons, vaults the Eagles from No. 11 into the top 10 with room for growth.
California saw a major shift as well. Then-No. 14 Mater Dei's (Santa Ana, CA) victory over No. 7 Centennial (Corona, CA) was the best win of the season for the Monarchs, shifting the power dynamic of the state ahead of a game between Mater Dei and Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas).
Baylor (Chattanooga, TN) picked up a solid Super 25 win over Trinity (Louisville, KY) on the back of David Gabriel Georges, who added to his resume as best running back in the game with a 315-yard, five-touchdown night.
